Visiting the Archives
The Archives Reading Room is open to the public by appointment only. If you do not have an appointment confirmation you will not be able to visit the Archives Reading Room.
We are still available to assist you over the phone (914) 231-1500 or by doing the Research By Mail if you are unable to make an appointement. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
The Archives offices are open:
- Monday through Friday, except government holidays
- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you are planning a trip to the Archives, we suggest that you call or e-mail first to confirm the hours. A photo I.D. must be presented when registering to do research in the Reading Room.
For departmental research requests, Westchester County employees should call for an appointment.
Please visit the Archives Reading Room for more information about doing research at the Archives before you visit. There are no food service facilities available at the Archives, but many reasonably priced delis and restaurants are within easy access by car or bus.
And don’t forget to check with the Westchester County Office of Tourism before planning your trip to Westchester County for information on accommodations, attractions, dining and more to get the most out of your trip.
Groups and tours planning to visit should review our Groups and Tours information to set up an appointment.
