School Reports, 1828-1968 (gaps)

Record Description:  Series 154 contains statistical and narrative reports to the New York State Department of Education. Reports include information about facilities, equipment and supplies, and teachers' salaries. Census schedules with the names and ages of all school age children in the district with the names of their parents are available for some districts for the years 1857-1879, 1893, and 1896-1904. This series includes some records from school districts for Westchester towns annexed to the Bronx and for some school districts located in Putnam County. The years for which reports are available varies by municipality, however, there are no reports available from the 1880s for any municipality.

Commissioner of Forfeiture Index, 1784-1786

Record Description:  Journal maintained by the Commission which sold lands which had been confiscated from Loyalists after the American Revolution. Entries include the name of the buyer, the date of the instrument, the amount paid, and a brief property description including the amount of acreage involved. Historic Building Inventory Forms, 1982-2001

Record DescriptionSeries 214: Registration forms for New York State Parks and Recreation, Division for Historic Preservation for Westchester County. Forms include identification of building by name, address, owner; use and accessibility to public; description by building material, structural system, condition and integrity; and notes of additions and changes. A photograph of the house is usually included as well as indication of property on map of town or village. Houses are included for many communities within Westchester County (although by no means all the houses within each community). However, White Plains and majority of Yonkers are not included at all. "Omits" folders contain forms for structures submitted for consideration, but which appear not to have been given full review; the forms do, however, contain some information regarding the structure and a photograph. The forms in the "omits" folders have not been indexed by street location.

Marriage Records, 1908-1935 - Personal Name Index

Records Description:  Index created by Archives’ staff and volunteers from volume indexes and County Clerk prepared indexes from 2 separate series (Series 169 and Series 183). Includes first and last names of brides and grooms, certificate number assigned by County Clerk’s office, and year of issuance of marriage license.

Note: In some cases the year the marriage license was issued may differ from the actual year the marriage took place.
